My husband and I are alike in many ways... we have perhaps the exact same sense of humor, want to spend our time doing a lot of the same things (traveling ranking high on that list), and finding a movie or book or tv show that we'll both love is never hard.
But please file this one under 'Things My Husband Enjoys That Terrify Me":
He's been off this week on his annual Colorado trip with high school friends, one of whom lives in Colorado and skis a ridiculous number of days per year. And we're not talking resort skiing- most of the time it's backcountry, which involves hours of hiking all for a couple of runs in fresh powder.
Skiing is not my favorite, but I'll do it (poorly) about once a year as long as there is a ski LIFT involved. A grueling hike just to get to the top of something I'm really not dying to ski down? Thanks, but no thanks.
I'm not going to lie, I'm never excited when he leaves me behind every year for his ski trip. He always offers to bring me, but I know I'd end up sitting in a lodge drinking hot chocolate the whole time. Anyone else and their significant other have to deal with mismatched hobbies like we do?
