Happy Birthday to my not-so miniature schnauzer! Today this little bugger turns FOUR!
Duncan, 7 weeks old
When he turned one, I made him a cake:
Who said I wasn't totally nuts?
No cake this year, but last weekend we went out to dinner, brought Duncan (there are lots of awesome restaurants in our neighborhood with outdoor spaces that allow dogs), and almost fed him a kid.
He's terrified of anyone under 12. He's growling purring lovingly in this photo. These eyes are saying, "Kid, you are about to lose an arm".
In other news, my Mom earned her SECOND Master's degree last weekend! I'm so proud. She's seriously amazing. As if graduating with her first one when she was eight months pregnant (with me!) wasn't enough, she had to go and get herself another (while working full time mind you).
(This news would have obviously had top billing, but I didn't want to embarass her too much.)
Obligatory house update: two contractors working on bids for our kitchen project as we speak. Less than three weeks until closing!
Obligatory bachelorette opinion update: so far, not too impressed. That pilot guy seemed great last night, but we all know anyone who seems great this early on is totally hiding something creepy in his closet.
Hello hello! Is anyone getting tired of seeing pictures of the outside of our house? Yeah me too! This one is my brother and adorable niece visiting while we were actually out of town. You can see to the left of the front door an ivy-covered gate that leads to our patio. Very secret garden-y don't you think?
The good news is that we've spent the last few weeks watching inspectors go in and out and return with good reports. Amazingly, this 209 year-old house is in pretty decent shape. Today is the appraisal, and the closing is just one month away. YAY! Awful "before" pictures are just a few weeks away :) (The fabulous "after" shots to follow.)
In other news, the new Bachelorette season starts tonight and I can't wait to drool over Jill's outfits. My reason to look forward to Mondays has returned. Who is with me?
