Wait, I have a blog? Seems to have slipped my mind during the month of April. I hope you won't mind a little catch up in the form of me emptying my iPhone of photos. Here's what we've been up to...
My amazingly talented husband finished refinishing the dining room floors. You can practically see yourself in the shine now and I'm in love (with the floors and the floor man). Details on how he did it to come.
After all that hard work, he needed a break and took his annual ski trip to Colorado to partake in a little back country spring skiing (and a few beers apparently).
Duncan got his much-needed spring haircut. (And his driver's license.)
We picked up a steal of a rug at Ikea for the no-man's-land part of the living room (but still haven't hung anything up on the walls!). These floors are on the schedule for a June refinishing project... they are 210 years old and need a lot of love.
While we were at Ikea we also picked up a closet organization system for our master closet... which you can see next to me here as I show off my fabulous self-portrait taking skills in a new dress I bought for hubs' ten-year high school reunion. Details on the closet to come; I think Ikea furniture should have ratings based on how many swear words you will utter during construction. And let's just say this one scores high.
I did the old "knock and run" to celebrate May Day after hanging these on a couple of friends' front doors.
And just this past weekend we started sprucing up our outdoor courtyard space with plans for a little Memorial Day get together. (The chipped red paint is the before, the gray paint is the primer, and the new paint color will match the brick of the main part of the house.)
May will be filled with finishing up that painting project, finishing and hanging interior shutters, finally getting some art on our walls, and maybe getting the kitchen backsplash tiled and walls painted. Should be fun... and I'll try not to forget that I have a blog this month :)
