Halfway there and housing a baby the length of a banana! This week is the first week the baby is measured from head to toe instead of head to bum... hence the big jump in length from mango to banana. And as for me, I think they call this POPPING... there is no hiding the bump any longer. People are noticing, although most are smart enough to vaguely ask "so, what is new with you....?" or "do you have any kids?" instead of busting out with "Congrats on being knocked up!". (Hubs has been unsuccessful so far in convincing me to mess with anyone, but he's really dying for me to act mortified and say "what do you mean?" when I get congratulated.)
This week finds me one happy momma-to-be, as this little banana has finally been making himself known in the form of a kick or two. Up until now I'd only been noticing little flutters or shifts, but now I've felt kicks big enough to be noticed on the outside! Definitely right up there among the coolest things I've ever experienced. The hubs has run anxiously every time I've felt strong kicks, but so far no luck. I'm sure he'll get to feel Baby O move soon :)
A few highlights:
Craving of the week: Chocolate. Not sure I can legitimately blame this on the baby but I'll try.
Weirdest google search: "numb big left toe in pregnancy" [Google didn't know. My yoga teacher blamed it on nerve compression. Doctor said it was probably too tight shoes. It's gone now, so whatever.]
Think outside the fruit: If you're not into bananas, this website says that Baby O is now the size of "one nice-sized boob". And who doesn't like boobs?
Chances of being able to sneak my way onto Discovery Health's "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant": High. I could still totally blame the gut on Halloween candy.
Sticker shock of the week: Rocker/Gliders that aren't ugly. I love this one but not the price tag.
