We spent all weekend making this:
look like this:
Don't tell anyone I said this, but I think tiling is actually kind of fun. Except for the annoying cutting around outlets parts, and remeasuring twelve times because you cut the tile wrong parts. But the hubs mostly takes care of that stuff :)
I didn't realized how un-finished the kitchen looked until I see it now all tiled- and I love it! You know I'm all about keeping it real and that's why I'm posting these lovely pictures of everything in process, so that you can see how crazy everything gets around here. (Not to mention the shots of my hot tiling attire- you're welcome.) But I think it might look even better after we grout it and uh, take the plastic off the counters, no?
[If you're wondering, we decided to get our tile from a local place here in Maryland (Versa-Tile and Marble) instead of through The Tile Shop, who has YET to reply to my emails. We got better quality tile at around the same price, it arrived in one day, and we didn't get ripped off on the trim pieces (what a scam).]
So seriously, if we can lay a tile backsplash, anyone can... have I inspired you to get tiling yet? :)
