{Afternoon}
5:47 pm. We head into the grocery store and I'm chugging that ill-advised Frappuccino. Hubs rolls his eyes at me as I capture him choosing summer squash.
5:49 pm. He picks out onions. Finn is not impressed.
6:01 pm. Finn wakes up briefly in the dairy aisle but by frozen foods he's snoozing again.
6:17 pm. We've checked out and are headed back to the car. Finn wakes up from naplet number four.
6:33 pm. We're home and I feed Finn in his room.
6:45 pm. Hubs wants to go for a run and there's a brief debate about if he'll take Finn or not. Jogging with a stroller is actually a great training workout and he often takes him, but he's doing a 5K this weekend and he wants to run without him. Finn and I have our last play session of the day in his room while he's gone.
7:01 pm. We're still playing. He's in an awesome mood. Cue photo session.
7:15 pm. Still playing. I can't get enough of my boy and we're having so much fun. And I'm still snapping away.
7:32 pm. But we're still working on it.
7:32:02. Clearly.
7:40 pm. Finn's dad is back from his run.
7:42 pm. He takes over the camera (and plays with the settings).
7:44 pm. Finn makes my heart swell.
7:46 pm. A lot.
7:48 pm. I have a boy. He enjoys fart noises.
7:49 pm. And hair pulling.
7:50 pm. Enough silliness. Finn gets serious about his locust yoga pose.
7:52 pm. Bath time. Dad's in charge.
8:07 pm. He's so fresh and so clean and ready for some snuggles.
8:08 pm. Finn's reflection in the mirror cracks us both up.
8:10 pm. The bedtime routine continues with a double-stuffed diaper.
8:12 pm. Dad's in charge of wrestling him into pjs.
8:13 pm. Finn looks quite dapper in his new (cousin hand-me-down) footie pjs.
8:14 pm. I nurse Finn and his dad reads him a bedtime story. Tonight's is Smooch Your Pooch
. Then I rock Finn and hubs makes dinner.
8:28 pm. I snap one last picture of my sweet boy for the day and tiptoe out of his room.
9:04 pm. We sit down to eat at the dining room table. It's not a fancy night but it's delicious.
9:27 pm. We eat frozen key lime pie for dessert.
9:40 pm. I sit down to finish the Bachelor Pad and hubs works on his bike. I upload all the pictures from today and start working on a blog post. I stay up way too late.
11:40 pm. I finally head up to bed, stopping to kiss my sleeping baby before going to sleep.
It was a fabulous day.

Wow what a day. Finn is absolutely adorable. I can't wait for life with a baby!!!! (I'm 37 weeks today!)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
PS- I just reread your whole birth story again. Thank you so much for sharing it. Your story makes me feel like I can do it too... I REALLY want to go with no epidural!
ReplyDeleteFinn is seriously the cutest baby ever! I'm captivated by all his smiles--there are a lot!
ReplyDeleteI love how you and your husband split up duties - it's a bit one-sided in our home. And baby smiles from their reflections in the mirror crack me up - HUT thinks he's pretty cute in the mirror. :)
ReplyDeleteThose pictures of you with Finn are the cutest :)
ReplyDeleteThat locus pose is adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have been married for five years and are now seriously planning to start our family. Thank you so much for sharing a day in your life with Finn - it is so nice to see how happy he makes you. Reading these posts has helped me to determine that I'm ready to start my family, so I thank you!
ReplyDeleteExcellent series! Thanks for breaking it up to accommodate all of the beyond-words-cute pictures of Finn (and you!). Sounds like working part time is a great balance for you, well done :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't life grand when you can declare at the end of the day, "it was a fabulous day." Good for you to chronicle and to appreciate! XO, Mimi
