The last time I took such a long blog hiatus was July 2010 and it was because I was sitting on a big secret and a whole lot of morning sickness. I can claim only laziness this time around (for clarity:NO, I AM NOT PREGNANT).
We had a fabulous Christmas and topped it off with a week-long cruise the day after. We returned to reality for just a couple of days before Finn and I visited Maine for the weekend to see his great-Nana and to meet the sweet new babe of my BFF Kate. I've started a new job which means fewer late nights, a shorter commute, and more hours to spend with my little man (who is fast approaching 9.5 months despite the absence of an eight month update on this here neglected blog).
My 2012 blog resolution is to return to blogging for myself. I've been hesitating to post things because I think they might not be that interesting, or because I don't have time to sit down and write a lot, or because my stories aren't always fascinating. But I want to get back to writing what goes on even if it's not super news-worthy so that we have a record of it all. More me, less you? Quantity over quality? Maybe :) I also have a lot of half-written stuff to finish up and get posted. My second resolution is to comment more on other blogs... I read so many each and every day and don't take the time I should to at least thank the authors for the entertainment. I hope some of you will stick around even if posts become a bit more mundane.
Cheers (only 10 little days late) to a wonderful 2012!

Welcome back! I think it's great that your blogging resolution is to blog more about the things you want and not care so much about what people think of them! I know I'll still be following! :-)
Welcome back! :) My blogging hiatus is way longer then yours, I prefer twitter these days, I like instant gratification. :) But I also resolved to comment more and I wanted to let you know of the "next" button for your google reader ... it is awesome. I have no idea how to explain it but it basically is a button on your toolbar that brings you to your next unread blog post in the persons actual blog - so you can comment! Like I am now ... okay, enough babbling.
You do what you have to do! It's easy to forget why we started blogging in the first place after a while and I will absolutely keep on reading!
It is such a big time commitment, I also need to get better at posting more. You can tell us about your breakfast if you want! ha
write for you. we'll still be here. :)
S'all good!!!! Keep writing, we will love it!
