I'm not sure how in the world we got here so quickly- 11 months?! Your birthday is right around the corner and we can't believe it. You started this month off super sick, a lovely little stomach virus that you passed on over to your mom as well. There was a lot of laying around on the couch that week, and you even got to watch a TV show for the first time on one particularly yucky day. Sneaky plan, little guy! It was Thomas the Tank Engine and you loved it of course. Your happy disposition continues to amaze us as you were never really bothered by feeling crappy. I don't think I'll ever get out of my mind the picture of you grinning at me from your crib while covered in puke. (Sorry for the visual but you really do make me laugh sometimes!)
We are absolutely thrilled at your love of books that really took off this month. You will sit still for multiple readings of your favorites- Brown Bear, Brown Bear, any of the Biscuit books, or Are You My Mother. You've started to bring us books to read to you, and you are really into turning the pages.
You're standing alone by yourself more and more and are starting to want to have us hold your hands so you can walk around. No solo steps yet, though! You are a speedy crawler and have learned how to get around the baby gate and into the kitchen if we don't lock it all the way. Your brother Duncan tries guard the entryway, but you think he's pretty funny and crawl right past him. If we tell you no you listen about half the time, but you're definitely starting to test your boundaries and will look back at us frequently while doing something you know you're not supposed to be doing.
You've been on a great schedule this month, waking up around 7:30 or 8, taking two naps, and getting to bed around 9 pm. You nurse four times a day when I'm home with you (two or three times on the days I work), and are starting to eat more and more food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Favorites this month are macaroni and cheese, meatballs, pumpernickel bread with cream cheese, grapes (which your crazy mom sometimes cuts into eighths), spinach, red peppers, raspberries and yogurt. You're getting better at feeding yourself yogurt with a spoon, but it's still a pretty messy endeavor. :)
You learned how to dance this month, and you like to hit the music buttons on your doodlebugs table or music cube and then bob your head around. You're especially entertained if we dance along with you. You're into playing peekaboo, and if we surprise you enough you'll bust out with a huge laugh. When you get super excited you've started doing a high speed babble that sounds something like bahadabahadadadadada! Your favorite thing to say is definitely still "dout dout" which is code for Duncan, or any dog you see in a book or on the street. Duncan is your favorite living creature of course :)
Eleven month stats: 23 lbs, and you've shot up in height but we haven't measured you
Size: 12 or 12-18 month clothes. I finally retired most of the 9 month stuff that I've been squeezing you into! The setting on your BumGenius diapers is three or four snaps open in the center. I haven't had you in disposables at all this month and I bet the size 3s we have left over from vacation are too small now.
Nicknames: Finno, Doo (your dad is pretty stuck on this one!), Finny T

Mr. Finn, you're pretty much the light of our lives. Thanks for being such an easy-going, cheerful, entertaining little guy. We can't believe we're entering the last month of your first year. As much as I'd love for you to stay a baby forever, it's way too much fun to see you grow and change for me to really wish that. We just adore the little boy that you're becoming!
Love you so much I can't stand it,
