You are twenty months old! It's starting to get ridiculous to say your age in months, but I'm your mom so I can still do it for four more months. And I refuse to say "he'll be two in March" yet!
Here's what you've been up to this month:
*Wanting to have your picture taken and yelling out CHEESE with a big grin whenever someone tries.
*Throwing your arms up and screaming touchdown (even for the opposing team, you good sport, you) while watching football with your dad.
*Noticing airplanes in the sky and pointing them out excitedly. You are one observant kid, because you'll notice even the faintest airplane noise, yell "airpane!" and do the sign for it whenever we happen to be within miles of an airplane (which I'm realizing is pretty often). You also saw your first helicopter ("heycotter") this month which pretty much blew your mind.
*Being much more interested in the potty (and the m&m rewards that follow if you initiate a successful trip).
*Labeling everything, including "burp" after you do so. We're working on "'scuse me" to follow.
*Really rocking out in the fine motor skills department this month, due in part to this bead stringing toy. We've added another set like them to your Christmas list. Your vision therapist momma is so proud of your eye-hand coordination ;)
*Enjoying art class. It is your mom's favorite 45 minutes of the whole week and I just love watching you interact with your buddies, explore lots of messy materials (outside of our home- bonus!), and create lots of adorable artwork. You request "art class" frequently at home too so we've added a lot more stuff to our supplies.
*Voting for the president with your mom. You were a champ, chilling in the Beco carrier through the 45 minute process. The next day your nanny taught you to answer "Obaba" when asked who the president is (much to the dismay of a few of your relatives).
*Dressing up as a lobster for your second Halloween. I don't know if you'll let us have any input into your costume again next year, so I was happy to choose the unofficial mascot of my home state this year.
*Learning to string more words together. You're not really saying sentences yet, but you're saying two and three words together. You'll point out "momma's eyes" and "Finn's mouth" and "Daddy's guitar". You remember meeting a new buddy and tell me that "baby Everett cry" or that "Sam cut hair" after your trip to the barber with your dad. You're adding new words to your repertoire every single day, and it's still so much fun.
*Loving books and especially the Christmas ones that we've just brought out.
*Loving cooking in the kitchen, pretending everything is a phone, holding mom's hairdryer up to your head with one hand and a brush in the other, and taking your clothes and shoes off all the time.
*Getting your 18-month check up a little late. You weight 28 pounds (70%) and are 34.5" tall (90%).
*Just generally being awesome to be around. Your dad and I both agree, you're getting to a really fun stage where you can just kind of chill out with us and are happy to play by yourself for a bit, play with us for a bit, play by yourself for a bit. We love having you around, and we love our life with you in it!
Love you so much I can't stand it,
