I've already mentioned that this is Finn's big gift from Santa this year. (Santa let me in on the secret so I could purchase some accessories.) We asked Santa for this one in particular because it's on the small side, not garish-ly colored, and wooden.

I've been looking for a really nice quality alphabet puzzle for awhile and I'm glad I kept searching until I found this one. It's wooden and sturdy, and the letters can stand up by themselves. Finn is just starting to be able to do puzzles like this one, and I think it will be a long-lasting toy.
Every kid needs a Glockenspiel, right? I think Finn will enjoy banging around on this now, and someday will be able to follow along with the little color-coded songbook.
This is a really awesome toy for fine motor development and eye hand coordination. The chunky beads and "needle" are perfect for little toddler hands. Finn has and loves the "string a farm" version of this toy and I know he'll love the vehicle version too. (He could do this independently right around 18 months but I'd supervise carefully since there is a string involved... probably why the box says 3+.) I'm kind of dying to get him the "treat
" version with cupcakes and candies to string, but it's pretty darn pink. Girl mommas, check it out.

8. Personalized placemat from Sarah+Abraham. This has arrived already (it was fast- I think you could still get it before Christmas) and is SO adorable. We'll use it for Play-Doh time and eating at the table. I also ordered ornaments for Finn and some friends from this site and am so exited to give them!

We have the constellation one already, but this one has an ocean-like projection for the ceiling. I'm hoping it will make bedtime and naptime (what's that?) easier.

Great list! I'll be revisiting this in a few months:) Luca's big gifts this year were his tricycle and helmet (we went with the little nutty) and they are simply adorable!
